Bethel Softball Association
The Bethel Softball Association is a youth softball league located in Bethel, CT.
We are an all-volunteer run organization focusing on teaching the game of softball.
Recreational and travel teams available for ages PreK-4 through 13.

Welcome to the 2025 BSA Spring Season Registration!
(please read the season information below)
 
Registration
  • January 10, 2025 - March 4, 2025
Cost
  • $125 per player
  • $200 max per family
  • EARLY BIRD registration: save $10 if register by 1/24/25
  • After March 4, 2025:  $150 per player/$225 family max
  • No refunds
***PLEASE NOTE: There is a $25 per player fee assessed by the Bethel Parks and Recreation Department.
 
Registration Late Fee and Wait List
  • After March 4, a $25 late fee applies
  • Registration late fees cover rush charges and extra shipping for expedited uniform orders
  • Late sign ups are subject to a waiting list
  • Players will be placed on teams on a first come, first serve basis as registrations are received.
  • If the final registrations received are not enough to form a full team, the final sign-ups received will be placed on a waiting list.  If we do not have enough for another full team, money will be refunded.
Season
  • April - June
  • Season will not go beyond the end of the school year
  • Practices will begin in April, when fields are opened
  • Games will be May - June
  • Practices and games will be weekdays and weekends
  • No more than 3 days per week
  • There may be out of town games, especially for older age groups
  • Out of town games are limited to local towns (Newtown, New Fairfield, Brookfield, Danbury, etc.)
  • Game schedules and practice schedules are TBD
  • Until we finalize teams and registration, we will not have game or practice schedules
    • Games and practices depend on volunteer coaches’ schedules. Game schedules are also dependent upon other town team schedules/field availability.
Age Groups/Divisions
  • Age Groups and Divisions will be determined after all registrations are received.  The expectation is to have the following divisions: 
    • Tee Ball / 6u: PreK4 - 1st grades
    • 8u: 2nd-3rd grades
    • 10u: 4th-5th grades 
    • 12u+: 6th-8th grades
  • Divisions will be primarily based upon your child's age as of December 31, 2024
  • We will make every effort to keep players of the same school grade in the same Division
  • All skill levels and playing abilities are welcome.  Bethel Softball is an instructional centered league.
Equipment/Uniforms
  • BSA will provide team shirts and matching socks
  • Players must be in full uniform for each game (gray softball pants, team shirt, team socks, cleats)
  • Please refer to chart below for equipment information 
Bethel Softball Spirit Wear and Apparel
 Coaches
  • WE NEED COACHES!  No experience required.
  • All coaches will need to complete a background check through Bethel Park and Recreation
  • All coaches will be required to register with NYSCA

2024 Fall Softball Season Information

Registration Period

  • July 29, 2024 - August 23, 2024

Cost

  • $125 per player
  • $175 max per family
  • (After Aug 23rd, a $25 late fee applies)

Season

  • Final practice and game schedules are TBD
    • No more than 3 days per week
    • WestConn Clinic* (see below) is one practice / week
    • Games are generally on Saturdays and Sundays
    • There will be some out of town games (limited to local towns, i.e. Newtown, New Fairfield, Brookfield, Danbury, Southbury, etc.)
    • Until we can finalize teams and registration, schedules will not be available as schedules depend on volunteer coaches' availability, as well as other towns schedules
      • The sooner players register and parents volunteer, the sooner we are able to get these schedules finalized
WestConn Softball Clinic (for 8u, 10u, and 12u divisions)
 
  • Run by WestConn Softball Team coaching staff & players
  • DATES5 weeks @ 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/9
  • TIME: starts promptly @ 6pm (players should arrive no later than 5:50pm); ends at 7:30pm
  • LOCATIONFreebairn Field
  • The clinic covers all aspects of softball: pitching, catching, hitting, fielding, etc.
  • TeeBall division does not participate in the WestConn clinics
  • **This clinic is included in the registration fee**

  • We will make every effort to keep players of the same school grade in the same Division
  • We will evaluate players "playing up or playing down" on a case by case basis and make a determination based on the best solution.
  • All skill levels and playing abilities are welcome.  Bethel Softball is an instructional centered league.

  • Players must be in full uniform for each game (gray softball pants, team shirt, team socks, cleats)

 Coaches

  • WE NEED COACHES! No experience required; you receive in-person training
  • All coaches complete a background check through Bethel Parks and Recreation
  • All coaches are required to register / get certified through NYSCA
